Back in 2013, via a few whimsical text messages, Tom and I decided to ‘give Electric Umbrella a go’ with absolutely no funding or support…

Since then we have delivered over 200 sessions across three regular groups, held two successful club nights, toured and performed over 40 gigs including festivals, fundraisers and a Christmas pub gig and we held our very own summer festival, Umbrellafest!

We now have over 50 regular members who, between them have attended 600 hours of music sessions have performed to thousands of people!

We are delighted to say that as of February 2016 , Electric Umbrella is an official charity. Since then we have spent a great deal of time reviewing what Electric Umbrella is, what our purpose is and how we want to operate.

We are incredibly privileged to now have the wonderful support of a team of trustees and a team of experts and advisors volunteering their services to enable Electric Umbrella to have an exciting and most importantly, sustainable future for our members.

We want to share our plans for the future with you all, and we want you all to be involved. This is just the beginning!

We will only be able to make this work with your support so, we will be sharing ways in which you can help us continue our work as well as celebrating how far we’ve come.

Please join us for cake , a short presentation and a song or two and help us ensure the future of Electric Umbrella is BRIGHT YELLOW!

We would like to welcome our members, friends and family, musicians, volunteers and anyone that has an interest in Electric Umbrella. Please share these details with anyone that may be interested in attending. FREE tickets  HERE.

With thanks to Merchant Taylors School for hosting CakeFest and their continued support with Electric Umbrella.

Best Wishes,

Mel & Tom

We were delighted to recently recognise Paul Gershlick, Partner at VWV Law Firm in Watford, with our Corporate Ambassador Award . Paul first introduced Electric Umbrella to VWV and their wider network after inviting us to perform online at their 2020 PING conference. Since then, a real friendship was struck and Paul, along with his team at VWV Watford, have gone above and beyond to support Electric Umbrella. Whether it’s having us return to perform at future conferences, supporting us with in-office charity events and lunches, or attending our shows, Paul and the VWV Watford team have bought into the Electric Umbrella way. In addition to VWV Watford making Electric Umbrella their office charity of the year for two years running, Paul personally volunteers on a weekly basis at our Big Yellow Choir, where he was presented with his award by our CEO Mel and choir member Ali, earlier this month.
