We’re even hoping that many of you will camp with us at Meraki!

Building upon our summer workshops, we will provide an Electric Umbrella festival experience for people with learning disabilities throughout Hertfordshire and beyond.

Together with Sunnyside Rural Trust it is our mission to ensure that day services, residential homes and other organisations come together to experience the Electric Umbrella festival joy, and celebrate learning disabilities together at Hemel Food Garden. Our Electric Umbrella community of friends and family are also very welcome!

Little Yellow Theatre

We have received a grant from Dacorum Borough Council to work with Sunnyside Rural Trust repair the Little Yellow Theatre and permanently site it within the outdoor seating area at the Hemel Food Garden cafe. It is anticipated that the repairs will be complete by early May and we have a number of events programmed throughout the summer in which all our members will be involved. Additionally a new mobile theatre is in the planning stages.

Electric Umbrella will bring the Little Yellow Theatre to life with each of our groups. Friends and family are welcome to join us on these days from 12.30pm – 3pm and experience the Little Yellow Theatre joy. Sunnyside will be hosting a BBQ and all their usual food/drinks/plants will available for purchase.

EU Waterways Adventure and the Big Yellow Picnic

A day full of Electric Umbrella music and joy to celebrate National Make Music Day. With Waterways Experiences we will make our way by barge to a gig and Big Yellow Picnic at Cassiobury Park bandstand. We will busking as we cruise along the Grand Union Canal between Kings Langley and Watford, with gigs at each lock! Join us along the towpath and then later in the park! Busking on the barge from 10am – 1pm and gig at the bandstand between 2pm and 4pm.

Electric Umbrella – The Musical!!

Artistically, our biggest challenge yet! The Poperetta, ‘A Pop-Opera by Electric Umbrella’ will be performed at Watford Palace Theatre in July and be the focus of our weekly sessions throughout the summer term. The Poperetta has been written by one of our members, who together with Electric Umbrella will fulfil his dream of writing and producing his very own show. We’re also producing a documentary following the exciting journey we’ll all take!
