Every Friday since the beginning of lockdown back in March 2021, Electric Umbrella has been the place to be for singing, dancing, meeting new people and feeling all of the benefits of music together.


The singalong is hosted by Tom Billington, who is often joined by other Electric Umbrella musicians and special guests from the world of music and entertainment.


It's all on Zoom, just sign in with your account and go to the activities page where you will find the button to join the Zoom and join the fun!

What is it and how does it work?

  • An interactive singalong session hosted by our professional musicians, supported by our learning disabled members. Singing, playing and having fun together.


How do we access it?

  • At the time of the event, sign into your ELECTRIC UMBRELLA account and go to the JOIN ZOOM button on the event.


Does it cost money?

  • No, It is entirely free.


Are there any technical things we need to be aware of?

  • It takes place on Zoom, so all you need is a device with an internet connection, and ideally a camera and microphone. The bigger the screen, the more fun you will have.


What age is it appropriate for? 

  • It’s appropriate for all ages.


Will it cater for all abilities?

  • Electric Umbrella works with people with all kinds of learning disabilities, and all our activities are designed to work for everybody.


What do we need to bring?

  • The most important thing will be your smiles and your singing voices!


Do we need to be on screen? 

  • It will help us to make the session more interactive and enjoyable for you and the other participants if you have your camera turned on, but if that is not possible, it will not stop you enjoying the session.


What measures do you have in place to ensure that this is a safe and secure online environment?

  • All our staff and musicians are DBS checked, and we always have at least one staff member on the session who is tasked with monitoring what is happening on screen, including on the chat.
  • Access codes change every week and are only available via our web page.
  • We will not use video or still pictures in subsequent publicity material unless we have specific consent from the individuals and/or schools portrayed.
  • The YouTube videos will be removed from the internet after the show.
