Electric Umbrella launch new partnership with Welcome Break

We are delighted to be partnering with Welcome Break, bringing one of our yellow street pianos to South Mimms services.

Over the last few years, we have brought music and joy to the streets of Watford by launching a series of street pianos in the city, hosted by local businesses. We love having our pianos around for people to play as they pass, all the while changing the way they think about our community - and others!


We are thrilled to be bringing this initiative to Welcome Break at South Mimms, and we see it as another way of making the world more 'Electric Umbrella'.




Our CEO, Mel Boda, said: "At Electric Umbrella everything we do is about creating amazing music experiences with our learning disabled members, so it's brilliant to take these experiences further, bringing music and fun to Welcome Break in South Mimms. 


"Our mission is all about changing the way the world looks at learning disabled people, and we are thrilled to be partnering with Welcome Break on this initiative."


Make sure to stop and play some music on our pianos if you see this one at Welcome Break, or anywhere in Watford, and spread some yellow Electric Umbrella joy to everyone around.

Paul Gershlick receives Electric Umbrella Corporate Ambassador Award!

We were delighted to recently recognise Paul Gershlick, Partner at VWV Law Firm in Watford, with our Corporate Ambassador Award . Paul first introduced Electric Umbrella to VWV and their wider network after inviting us to perform online at their 2020 PING conference. Since then, a real friendship was struck and Paul, along with his team at VWV Watford, have gone above and beyond to support Electric Umbrella. Whether it’s having us return to perform at future conferences, supporting us with in-office charity events and lunches, or attending our shows, Paul and the VWV Watford team have bought into the Electric Umbrella way. In addition to VWV Watford making Electric Umbrella their office charity of the year for two years running, Paul personally volunteers on a weekly basis at our Big Yellow Choir, where he was presented with his award by our CEO Mel and choir member Ali, earlier this month.
